Band History

In 2003, I lucked into joining an incredible group of Irish traditional musicians called The Beggarmen.  My husband Joe joined the band in 2005 playing the bodhrán, the Irish frame drum.

We released our first album I Shall in 2005, our second Newry Town in 2007, and our third A Soft Day in 2010.  For the making of the third album, we were very fortunate to have received a major grant from the Iowa Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.

We practice every week and strive to have at least two or three performances every month, some of which are here in town and many of which are on the road. I’m really lucky to be a part of this ensemble and I feel really grateful for each of my bandmates who have become family to us.
