Projects

Learning
We now have a kindergartner and a preschooler!  Liam is dual enrolled in the awesome local homeschool assistance program and the neighborhood school which basically means for us that he’s at school for about an hour a day on Fridays.  He attends for art and computer.  We do academics at home and Atticus learns along with Liam.  Liam also takes piano lessons from me, they are both in dance and yoga, and that is more than enough for us!

Playing
Lots of performances coming up in this spring and summer!  My guitar lessons continue to be humbling and fascinating at the same time.  And did I mention humbling?  Oh so humbling.

Knitting
I really need to update my Rav page.  I will get right on that.  One of these days.

Sewing
I have yet to make friends with my sewing machine.  Hand sewing is great fun though.

Cooking
I like to cook.  I really don’t aspire to anything gourmet but I like taking good, fresh, simple ingredients and making them into a delicious meal.  I like baking for the same reason, the alchemy of it all.

Our budget doesn’t allow for very much dining out so we try to make the most of cooking at home.  We plan to cook dinner entrees four days a week and we make enough for lunches  the next day.  The other days we eat leftovers or breakfast at dinner.  I’m especially interested in the low cost meals.  Which brings us to…

Saving
We live pretty simply by modern standards but we are striving to be mindful of our spending habits and set good examples for our children.  We have a financial planner who we really like and trust and she has taught us some valuable skills, not the least of which is to track every penny you spend.  This is an area in which I need a lot of accountability so it’s something that will come up here from time to time.
